Dear Member,
All of us here at Passport America hope you are having a great time traveling and
camping this summer! We are sending you this email today with links to online updates, info about a great participating park, and new website features.
New Passport America Website
Since our new website became available in January, we have been busy with improving
existing features and adding new features to the website. Our most recent addition
is the RSS feed. You can now subscribe to the RSS feed of New and Cancelled Passport
America Participating Parks.
So, what is an RSS Feed? RSS means “Really Simple Syndication” or sometimes “Rich
Site Summary” feed and provides summaries of web content in a simple format (just
think of it like a news feed). It is available through an RSS feed reader (Google
Reader - works great on Android and Apple Phones. Also, Smartphone users can check their app store
for RSS readers), or through some web browsers. It will show you what's new since
the last time you checked the feed, without having to visit the website itself
How does this benefit PA Members? Well, say you are interested in checking out just
new and cancelled parks as they are added. The RSS feed gives you this capability
easily. Not only does our RSS include some important directory information about
the parks, but you can still click on the link and be directed to our complete online
listing for that particular park. So, if you subscribe to Passport America’s RSS
feed, our new/cancelled park info comes to you.
We have been improving on the Passport America Membership Expiration Date Locator
and the online Passport America Membership Renewal form. If you renewed online last
year, you will see quite a difference this year. More new features will be on the
way soon!
Other Types Of
Directory Updates
There are other ways to acquire updates regarding Passport America Participating Parks. For a printer friendly “print and go” version, just go to the campground section of our website and click on “directory updates”. Here is a quick link. Then, at the top of the page you will find the link for the printable directory update for our latest printed camping guide. Want just an “at a glance” list of new, cancelled, or just general park changes? You can find that on the website in the campgrounds section also. We do not recommend printing these lists, but they are still good for a quick list of new or cancelled PA Discount locations.
