Dear Member,

All of us here at Passport America hope you are having a great time traveling this spring! We are sending you this email today with links to online updates, info about a great participating park, our new website, and iPhone/iPod Touch app.

New Passport America Website

We hope you will enjoy our new website. We recently replaced the site we have been using since 2000, and have tried to stay true to the simplicity of the last site. We hope you will find it to be as user friendly as the old site and enjoy the new features. Some new features include:

  • Daily updates! No longer is the site updated once or twice each week. The website is now data-driven and new campground info (anything from rate changes to new parks, etc) reflects immediately on our website.
  • State Maps are now provided by Google. This means a more detailed state map than what was previously available.
  • New “printable view” of each park’s listing – which includes all the park’s directory info on one to two printed pages.
  • You can now lookup your Passport America Expiration date

We hope you will enjoy the new layout and features. More features will be added throughout the year, and we will keep you posted via newsletters and announcements on Facebook and Twitter.

Directory Updates

Now you have a couple ways to acquire updates regarding Passport America Participating Parks. For a printer friendly “print and go” version, just go to the campground section of our website and click on “directory updates”. Here is a quick link. Then, at the top of the page you will find the link for the printable directory update for our latest printed camping guide. Want just an “at a glance” list of new, cancelled, or just general park changes? You can find that on the website in the campgrounds section also. We do not recommend printing these lists, but they are still good for a quick list of new or cancelled PA Discount locations.

New Passport America FREE app for the iPhone and iPod Touch

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you can easily locate the Passport America Participating Parks with our new free app. It works similarly to our website, but has the additional capability of finding your current location and showing you parks in your vicinity. Read all about it on our website, or download now from iTunes.

Misty River Cabins & RV Resort

Misty River Cabins & RV Resort was one of only 31 campgrounds and RV resorts across the country to earn an all around “A” grade in the nation’s consumer satisfaction survey of independent parks. The 72-site park, located on the "Quiet Side" of the Smoky Mountains of Walland TN, received an “A” grade in overall guest satisfaction for the year 2009. This park also received an “A” rating in the same survey for 2008 and is the only park in Tennessee to receive the award two years in a row and was even the Tennessee Campground of the Year 2008-2009.

Just some of the reasons customers love it at Misty River are the nice wide campsites, the large pool and hottub, the fishing and tubing in the pristine waters of the Little River and great customer service. They are especially proud of their modern and private individual bath rooms. Nothing like the old fashioned gym showers you see in other resorts. The facilities are climate controlled, provide instant hot water and are maintained to the highest levels of cleanliness.

The campground supports the local food bank and fire departments by holding benefit camp outs as fund raisers and will hosted over 20 rallies including two vintage camper rallies each year. The entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park is only 11 miles away. When you see the abundant wildlife and miles of scenic roads that make the park so beautiful you will understand why Misty River Resort is such a big hit. If you are ever in the East Tennessee area be sure to stop by and find out for yourself why they are such an award winning campground.
